Last night Cleveland played Bruckner 4 at Blossom. Kind of a weird piece (really repetitive)...the viola section solo was incredible! It was really funny because this frog started croaking on beat during the second movement and even some of the orchestra members were cracking up. Alisa Weilerstein's Roccoco was incredible :)

I had a lesson yesterday with Cathy Meng-Robinson (second violin in Miami Quartet; she coached my Beach Quintet, which we're performing Tuesday). It reminded me of how far I have to go. It was like AHHH I stink at first but now it just makes me want to practice more :) It was a great lesson, a couple good take-home points but not too overwhelming (because we have so much stuff to practice here other than our solo pieces, etc.).

Yeah, I heard the NY Phil play that a month and a half ago... Bruckner 4 is a weird piece. I dunno how to describe it, but we had a cell phone ring during the 2nd movement. But that does beat the frog!
